I was born and raised in Tehran which is the capital city of Iran. I am happily married and have two beautiful daughters, Helena and Heava. I immigrated to Canada in 2010 to pursue my PhD degree in quantum information science and I am currently working for Zapata Quantum Computing Inc. in Toronto.
My passion about physics started in teenage-hood, looking at the sky and wondering how the universe was created and where it ends. To feed my curiosity, I pursued physics in my undergrad with the hope of discovering the mystery of the universe. Moving forward, when I learnt about quantum mechanics and observed counter-intuitive behaviour of subatomic particles, I was fascinated by the world at a smaller scale rather than the galaxy size objects. That changed the direction of curiosity from discovering the macroscopic universe to understanding the microscopic world.
My grad school was exclusively focused on various areas in the field of quantum computation and quantum communication. I have worked on various projects, naming QKD for satellite communication, Nitrogen-Vacancy centers in diamonds, noise protected qubits and collective dynamics of open quantum systems.
After graduating in 2016, I have worked for Xanadu Quantum Technologies in Toronto, Transformative Quantum Technologies in Waterloo and Anyon Systems Inc. in Montreal, Canada. I also served the government of Canada as a quantum strategy advisor.
I am a social person and enjoy gathering with friends and family. My personal life has given me a special strength to be a wise and influential mother, an inspiring friend and a highly skilled researcher and teacher. I enjoy educating, mentoring and training younger generations. If you wanna learn more, drop me a line to have a coffee/beer some time!
